KAMPALA, UGANDA — American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, for a three-day visit following an invitation from the Government of Uganda and private-sector partners.
Upon his arrival, Gibson was received by Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, and Ms. Juliana Kaggwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

Talent Africa Group is supporting Gibson’s itinerary throughout his visit, working alongside government and tourism stakeholders to coordinate his engagements and experiences across Uganda. The partnership is helping facilitate an itinerary that connects Gibson with Uganda’s tourism, coffee, culture and investment opportunities.
Gibson has already met with the Head of State, an engagement that further highlighted Uganda’s growing international profile as a tourism and investment destination.
Today, Gibson also participated in the official launch of Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The initiative is aimed at promoting Uganda’s coffee culture, consumption and tourism experiences.

Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism is a joint campaign by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Africa Coffee Park. The campaign seeks to position Kampala as a destination where visitors can experience Uganda’s coffee value chain while discovering the country’s tourism attractions and cultural heritage.
The remainder of Gibson’s itinerary will include a visit to the Source of the Nile, where he will experience some of Uganda’s natural beauty. He is also expected to participate in a coffee-tree planting activity and meet coffee farmers in Western Uganda.

Gibson is internationally recognised for his successful career in film and music. He is widely known for his role in the Fast & Furious film franchise, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, as well as his music career. His hit single “How You Gonna Act Like That” has amassed hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.
Gibson’s visit is expected to contribute to international visibility for Uganda’s tourism sector and spotlight the country’s opportunities in cultural, experiential and coffee tourism.
Through Talent Africa Group’s support and coordination of the itinerary, the visit is also creating opportunities for Gibson to experience Uganda beyond its headline tourism attractions — connecting him with the country’s people, coffee communities, culture and destinations in a way that can translate into greater international visibility for Uganda.
